Brazil, rain, South America, photography, tropical rainfall, tropics, Brasil, Illa Grande

It’s Summer here in Sydney but you couldn’t tell by looking out the window. A dull veil has fallen over the city as shades of grey cast by clouds and raindrops envelope the streets, like it has done for the best part of 6 weeks. Don’t get me wrong, I love the sound of rain on the roof as much as the next girl, it’s great for the garden and the grass is so green but is it too much to ask for the sun to smile down every now and again?! It is Summertime afterall.

So, on the one hand – I’m daydreaming about tropical sunshine, but on the other – I’m reminded of a similar time had on our travels in Brazil, a place where even rainy weather looks sexy.

We had some showery days in Ilha Grande, Paraty and Trindade, which, when you’re in the tropics, feels so silently steamy that it doesn’t actually stop you from going outside, and in fact, swimming in the ocean when it rains is one of the most magical things a human can do…
