WHY?

Modern life can be uninspiring at times.

The daily commute. The cold shadows of the concrete jungle. Looming deadlines. The queuing, the queuing, the queuing. It’s a life most of us can’t avoid: mouths to feed, bills to pay, careers to make.

But it’s not all doom & gloom. There are things we do to keep ourselves smiling and at the bottom of these things, more often than not, is nature. (pronounced ‘nay-cha’ here in Australia)

Now, before you think this is another patchouli burning, 1 billion green things-you-must-do-or-die-listing, hemp wearing, binocular-feather-watching, hippy bandwagon-jumping blog, think again because you don’t have to be any of these clichés to notice that the natural world around us is pretty darn incredible.

Cohabitaire is photography, design & art, it’s architecture, landscaping, gardens & interiors, it’s travel, surfing, health, yoga & food – it’s everything and anything that’s cool and influenced or inspired by nature. A bit of art imitating life, life imitating… stuff.

And not least, when we truly appreciate nature we’re possibly more reluctant to ruin it. At a time when humans are destroying habitats, species and ecosystems faster than ever, there has never been more reason to turn to nature for the inspiration needed to save it.
