My latest urban/nature art crush is Fauna & flora preserved, or ‘Nature Implanted’ which unexpectedly popped up all over Madrid recently, the creation of Luzinterruptus:
“an anonymous artistic group, who carries out urban interventions in public spaces”
Frustrated by the lack of green spaces in the urban jungle of Madrid, they took to the streets and created mini ecosystem installations in the greyest of spaces…..
“the intention of this intervention was to make homage and call attention to the insignificant weeds which grow in the most unexpected places and which seem very beautiful to us, for their obstinance in surviving the harsh daily life and for their spontaneity”
So bloody clever and sure to have turned a head or two! Apparently the objects didn’t last long, but these anonymous artists don’t see this as a bad thing, more as a gift to the people. Clever and nice.
