Awaken Kinesiology } Kerry Belviso Q&A

Hi there Kerry and welcome to Cohabitaire.
Tell us a bit about yourself – what’s your background and what are you passionate about?

Thanks so much! I’m a holistic Kinesiologist based in Melbourne and I’m passionate about helping people to create change in their lives. So often clients come to me because they feel anxious, stressed and stuck and unsure how to move forwards. Often they feel they’ve lost connection to who they really are and what they feel their purpose in life is. I love helping them get clarity on what’s holding them back, release negative thoughts, patterns and old memories held in their body and start to feel like themselves again.

I got into Kinesiology myself at a time when I felt quite stuck and disconnected and found it completely amazing (and effective). I was a Primary School Teacher at the time and after years of teaching interstate and overseas and travelling a lot (through Europe, Africa and some parts of Asia), I wasn’t feeling terribly settled. In fact, it came up in a Kinesiology session that I was bored. I remember saying, “I’m not bored, I am SO busy!”

Of course there’s a big difference between being busy and being inspired, engaged and excited about what you’re doing with your life. Kinesiology helped me create such change in my life, including helping me clear long-standing depression, that I wanted to help others in the same way and decided to study it myself. So many people I see feel unhappy and like they’re not on the right path for them and I find Kinesiology is so effective at looking at the different layers of what is going on – physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually – and helping you create real, lasting change.

I love Melbourne and live here with my husband, who I met on a tram about 7 years ago!

In what ways does nature inspire you?

I grew up on a farm in country South Australia and love being out in nature, though living in inner city Melbourne, I don’t spend as much time in the countryside as I’d like. When I go back home and visit family I’m inspired by the space, colours and smells. We live near the bay, so I walk along the beach most days and I love seeing the change of seasons and the light on the bay earlier in the mornings and leading up to sunset can be just stunning.

We are so excited to be giving away one of your amazing DIY Kinesiology Kits right here on Cohabitaire!
What benefits can readers hope to experience?

I love seeing my clients but I can only work with one person at a time! You can use the DIY Kinesiology Kit to align to your goals anytime. You use the process I teach you in the kit to get clear on your goal, and then to find out specifically what is blocking you from achieving it. People are constantly telling me they’re amazed at how spot-on the block is and how applicable to their goal. I then guide you through a process of clearing the block and re-aligning your energy. After aligning to your goal people describe feeling light, spacious, clear, open – and like their goal is so much more possible.

Often, if we want to achieve a goal and it’s not happening, we’re holding ourselves back in some way. If we don’t know how, it’s very difficult to do anything about it! The DIY Kinesiology Kit helps you get that clarity – and create change. Once you feel clear, it’s often much easier to take the actions that will help you achieve your goal too. The kit includes an e-book, workbook, several videos and an audio guiding you through the process. You can take a look here:

Cohabitaire quick five…

1. Morning bird or night owl?

I wish I was a morning bird… but I’m definitely more of a night owl!

2. Tropics or mountains?

I lived in Darwin for a year and just loved it. Tropics!

3. City or country?

Although I grew up in the country I can’t imagine living there now. I do love the city, especially where there’s access to parks, the Bay or other open spaces.

4. Favourite place on earth?

I love the Clare Valley, near where I grew up. I haven’t lived in South Australia for many years and when I go home to visit we often go wine tasting there. My parents now live in a lovely spot on top of a hill with views in both directions of rolling hills, trees and farm land and I always find it relaxing there.

5. Beaten track or road less travelled?

When travelling, I always love the feeling of finding “unknown” places. Melbourne is kind of perfect for that with all the hidden cafes, bars and restaurants. And I guess becoming a Kinesiologist was definitely following the road less travelled – I didn’t know what Kinesiology was before I went for my first session and was studying it within a year. And then I had no real idea about running a business but left the security and safety of a permanent teaching job to take on the challenge. Looking back, I can see it was a big move, but I couldn’t have chosen any differently as following my purpose was so important to me. Learning to create your own security rather than seeking it externally is an incredible gift.
