Today I’m delighted to introduce you to our latest contributor – a very talented photographer and artist, James Murphy. You’ll hear from James from time to time around Cohabitaire so hope you enjoy his work – and if you do, don’t be shy – say hi!
First time I saw Lake St Clair I couldn’t believe how grand and beautiful it was. We had been driving through undulating country just north of Singleton, and we were on our way to the lake to be sure, but I had no idea of how majestic and striking this body of water would actually be. We rounded a bend and there it was. I couldn’t turn my eyes away.
Camping sites were plentiful and we camped just up the hill from the edge of the water in a small group of trees. It was a warm weekend and we wanted to be in the shade. From the opening of the tent we looked out across the lake. We swam and walked and took an endless number of photographs.
Every moment the light on the water seemed to change and that kept me coming back for more. We had lots of sun and a little rain but the weather didn’t change the enchantment I felt being there. It is a place where you can leave everything behind.
Just about time to head up again for another spell.
