It’s high time we had a chat about the Eden Project because it’s too bloody awesome not to discuss, and no, it has nothing to do with Adam and Eve, although there’s plenty of fig leaves and temptation abound. Heard of it? I’m assuming some of you know something because it’s been around for a decade now and has twenty-two-thousand odd facebook fans.

Designed by architect Nicholas Grimshaw, the Eden Project is in Cornwall, UK, built on an old china clay quarry site and consists of a conglomeration of biomes on over 35 acres of land, creating ecosystems that are home to over 4000 species.

It’s the nature lovers Disneyland.

With ongoing biodiversity research, Eden aims to inspire conservation and sustainability, encourage people to get in the garden and appreciate nature and is a haven for educational excursions, family outings, arts & music festivals and fun field days.

I. MUST. GO!! …. Someday. Have you been? Do tell!

Ingy, the Eden Project is as incredible in real life as it looks in these pictures. Some-one was seriously inspired to create this place and the huge domes rising up absolutely other-earthly. When you go, make sure you allow time to visit another local gem – the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Exactly as they sound, the gardens were amazing during Victorian times then ‘lost’ until rediscovered not all that long ago. I love the fact that the absolute highlight of the Victorian Gardens was a pineapple plant. Also amazing that they could ever be lost when you see the size of them! It’s all located around the Coast Path which goes right round Devon and Cornwall and it magnificent walking. Bon Voyage!
